Ok, here are a few more details...

I know, I know...I left some of you hanging. I didn't mean to be cryptic, but it has been kind of crazy here the past couple of days.

Here are the details I can share:

We leave on Sept 18 to travel to Kaluga. Our referral is a little girl, who will be a year old in October. We do have some pictures and some medical information, thanks to the Houks and the Johnsons who have actually seen and photographed her, and also huge thanks to the Dyers for sharing their information with us. There are, of course, some medical concerns, but at this point we haven't had any sense that God is telling us not to go and see her.

So basically, we're walking that emotional line between being really excited and trying to not get too excited so we won't be let down (if that explanation makes sense--sorry, having a hard time expressing my emotions lately).

We are in the process of getting visas, flights, an accomodations. If anyone has any suggestions, we're open to them, I promise! I also have to get ready for the upcoming semester of school, and do all that stuff that I said I'd do this summer (that, alas, is still not done...things like cleaning out the garage :-( )

And tomorrow, I'm headed to St Louis to get my hair cut---yes, I know, a 3 hour drive for a haircut. BUT, trust me, it's worth it. If anybody knows of anything I can do while I'm there to make it not quite such a decadent trip, please let me know. If there's anything I should be shopping for, I'm totally up for that!

Finally, thanks to all of you---I'm glad that you're so excited. I am too!

That is great that you have "added" information from various sources! I don't think I have heard of that happening very often. And an almost 1 year old, too!!! I'm praying for you guys!

Wow - a real little one!!! So glad you have some information to go by and some time to get things together. If you are still shopping for flights, I highly recommend Gayle at International Adoption Travel 800.755.2193 She was able to secure our tickets quickly and she also made our changes for us while we were in Russia since our phone wouldn't work completely by email.

So exciting!!!!

I've been following your blog for awhile now as it is linked to another blog I follow. We've adopted twice from Russia & once from Kaz and you are in for a wonderful, exciting journey! There is no memory more precious than that first sight of your child! As a resident of St. Louis, I'd love to know where you get your hair cut that's worth the 3 hour drive :)! I doubt you want to start shopping for baby clothes yet but if you'd like to meet some other STL families who've adopted from Russia, let me know for your next hair trip. You could shop for your gifts! Good luck! I look forward to following your special journey! Sherri www.journeyforjill2.blogspot.com

Sherri,

I have REALLY curly hair--and, unfortunately, it's really hard to find someone who knows how to cut it. Most stylists around here will say, "don't you just want to straighten it?" :-)

Anyway, there's a really sweet little girl named Katie in St. Louis who I found who's trained in the school of the curly hair guru, Lorraine Massey. She just moved out of the studio that she was in, and is now in Maplewood on Manchester. Thanks for the offer of hooking up with STL families--I'm not often there, but will definitely keep it in mind!

YAY YAY YAY!! FREAKING OUT is the normal response..don't worry! :)
I know it is soo surreal..when the orphanage doctor said "the baby is awake and you can see her now" is when it finally hit me that is was ar real life little person!!!
I hope and pray that this IS your little girl..but either way, you are one huge step closer to the baby that is yours!!!! God bless you as you plan for the trip of your life!! :0)
